Re: Dinner Time....

I am ashamed to say we eat in front of the TV on snack tables. I am glad to see we aren't the only one. That will change when we have kids, I hope.

Re: Dinner Time....

We eat at the dinner table. We don't have any electronics on during dinner. It was very important to the wife and I agreed. If we have pizza we might eat inside on the couches. We have a conversation at dinner...about life or anything on the news.

Re: Dinner Time....

We eat in the kitchen at our table. I do not like watching tv while I eat. That's our time to talk and unwind.

We eat at the kitchen table with the boys and no television. We talk. It is family time.

Re: Dinner Time....

we eat in the kitchen with no TV. DH suggested putting a TV in the kitchen and I said absolutely not...when DS gets older, I dont want all of us staring at the TV instead of talking and spending time together

Re: Dinner Time....

We eat at our dining room table- sometimes at the counter (I have stools finally) and on NICE nights, we sit out on our balcony and eat on the little bistro set I have out thereChat Icon

Re: Dinner Time....

Honestly, it depends on what we're eating, or if we're eating together. Our kitchen is kind of small, we have a "breakfast bar" there, not an actual table.

If it's a messy dinner, we'll eat at a table we have against one wall of our living room & DH will turn the TV off. Sometimes we just eat at the coffee table. When there are kids, it will be at the table, with no TV. It's how I was brought up, 30 minutes with no TV won't kill anyone.

Re: Dinner Time....

Before my son we occassionally ate with the tv on, however, now we have all our meals together at the table. I think it is a bad habit to teach a child to eat with tv on and discourages interaction. Actually the tv is off most of the day until my DS goes to sleep and then we enjoy watching tv together.
