Chat Icon MEN!

I have a complaint too... last night while we were watching TV and after fussing on the couch saying my back hurts, I politely asked DH to get up to turn the temp down on the AC for me and he had the nerve to wait a good while until he needed to get up for something else, for himself, ...meanwhile I was sweating my butt off... YET, a minute later he went on a hunt to find all of the cat toys that were under the couch or wherever so he can play with the cat. Like he was too lazy get up when I asked but has enough energy to play fetch w/the cat?!! NO SYMPATHY!!!!

Re: Sometimes husbands are just jerks....

I hear you! Mine comes home every single day and asks what's for dinner. Yet for the 5 months he was out of a job - he only cooked 2 or 3 times!

I'm not pregnant currently, but my husband asks me that every night before bedtime and first thing in the morning. Today I said to him...I don't know, what are you cooking???

Re: Sometimes husbands are just jerks....

I swear I can top you all!! LOL. My DH has been really good, so I really don't like to complain but the other day I though I might drive his head through a wall.

He comes home and asks me "you know how important football is & how I don't do anything on Sundays, right?" Now I knew exactly where this was leading because my sister had already forewarned me. I said "yes" and then added, "but sometimes you have to be flexible and things come up, like my shower". So he then proceeds to tell me how he won't be able to make it (he only needs to do a stop by and it is at his parent's - 10 mins away), because it is opening weekend. I was like are you f***in kidding? I am not giving you my ok that you don't have to come and it really hurts me that you can't miss some of football. I don't care if it is opening wknd or if you even had tickets. He then came around and realized he does need to go after I laid the guilt trip that me and his first child are more impo. However, he is NOT happy about it and feels like his mom (and I guess mine) "f'd him over". R U kidding? I am sure they though of him when trying to pick a date and were right on top of the football schedule.

Stupid idiots they are some times!

They really don't get it.

My DH was pretty good the whole time I had morning sickness, but every 2 weeks he'd be like "so am I ever going to eat a warm dinner again??" And get all snippy with me that he wanted dinner.

I was like "make you're own f'ing dinner!!!!!!"

Re: Sometimes husbands are just jerks....

I really think that they just don't get it!

When I had my morning sickness, I literally lived on bagels for about 2 months... breakfast, lunch and dinner. When DH would ask what we were having for dinner, my reply would be,

"I will be having a bagel. What are you having?"

Poor guy... didn't cook a single thing for him for 2 months!!! (and he survived!!)

Re: Sometimes husbands are just jerks....

Mine asks what's for dinner the day before . . . usually immediately after he is done eating dinner! Chat Icon Chat Icon Umm, hello, I'm full, I can't even think about another meal.

The there are those time when they are jerks and they figure it out on their own without help. Like this week . . . on Wednesday we had a prenatal class to go to. He "had" to play softball. Chat Icon He asked if it was ok if he played instead of coming with me. It wasn't, but, I told him I would rather he play then sit next to me huffing and puffing and wishing he was someplace else for 2 hours. So, he played. He came home and said he was going with me to the next class instead of playing. I asked him if the team was eliminated from playoffs and he said no, but while he was at the game he had no fun b/c he realized he would rather be at the class with me learning about the baby. Re: Sometimes husbands are just jerks....

Mine has been really great about a lot of things, and he took on a lot of the housework and cooking during the first trimester, when I was either exhausted or nauseous most of the time.

But...he seems to think he is going away for a ski weekend this year. We both love to ski, but our baby is due in early December and will not be old enough to travel that far in a car during winter IMO. So that leaves me at home all weekend with a newborn? I don't think so!
