You've got to be kidding me
As most of you know, I was RESENT for my gestational diabetes test because they didn't believe my first one. I had to retake the 1 hour and do the 3 hour. I passed AGAIN. But since I have big baby (which runs in the family) they still believe something is up. SO, at 37 weeks I am being sent for more bloodwork.
I already look like a heroin addict with all the track marks on my arm from test after test. I'm thoroughly sexy.

that's a bunch of cr@p. They need to leave you and your baby alone. Can't you just say you don't want anymore testing done. Are we allowed to say such things??

Only my grandmother has diabetes.
I'm beginning to wonder about my pituitary tumor. I've been doing some research and I'm wondering if this could be the culprit.

Re: You've got to be kidding me
Kelly I'm so sorry to hear this as I'm going through a very similar thing and it's so frustrating. At 37 weeks she was measuring 7lbs 12 oz. I also have a lot of fluid.
So far I've been tested for GD 4 times - always passing. They've been checking blood pressure way more lately, I had to do the 24 hour urine collection - all normal. NST and BPP both normal.
No one listens when I say my niece and nephew were both born over 10lbs to a healthy mom, my brother was born at 36 weeks and over 7 lbs, I was born at 37 weeks almost 8 lbs, DH was born over 8 lbs at 38 weeks. Obviously our families make big babies. I'm 5'8", DH is 6'4" - I don't see why it's such a big deal to the docs.
Well, look at it this way. Pretty soon we will be able to introduce our GIANT babies to each other and who knows, if they hit it off maybe someday we'll be grandparents to SUPER GIANT babies.

Re: You've got to be kidding me
Some food for thought: You can opt out of testing, as it is your body and your choice. I am not advocating that but the option is there. And if you ever want to come on over to check your blood sugar, DH has testers (the needles are new for every prick. I said "prick." . I meant it a as a verb, though)
ANd if I change one letter, this reads, "DH has testes."
Only when I am speaking to Kelly do these thoughts cross my mind.
