i think we have a leak in our house
we keep getting this stain on the ceiling in one of our rooms...we've painted over it a few times, but it keeps coming back after a heavy rain.
Does anyone have any idea what it might cost to fix something like that?

I'm not sure what it would cost. You will need to open the roof ASAP, and check for mold or beam damage....
Hopefully there is no mold or bad damage to the wood...etc.

There is definitely some kind of leak going on. If it's a second floor room then it's probably from the roof. If it's a first floor room, probably plumbing. Either way, don't ignore it and keep painting over the stain. This could be a serious problem.

is the stain close to a point in the roof where there's a junction between 2 sections of roof, or where there's a chimney? Most roof leaks are caused by flashing problems.....
definitely call a roofer ASAP for a repair, and checkout your attic for water damage, if one is above the stain....

I agree call a roofer, a good roofer willl go into your attic and look for the water trail. How old is the roof??????

Def call a roofer, it could be a patch job. WE had a problem with our room where the 2 sections of the roof meet (we have a split) and luckily it was a patch job.
