Weight gain?
During the first trimester how much weight are you supposed to gain each week?

"What to Expect" says 3-4 pounds during the 1st trimester, but this can vary a great deal from person to person.
I actually gained 12 pounds during the 1st trimester, but I've gained less in the second. My doctor thinks I'm fine overall, so I'm not worried about it. I've heard some people are like this, and gain a lot or bloat during the first trimester. Some women actually lose weight during the 1st trimester due to MS or food aversions.
If you're concerned, ask your doctor.

I gained 10 pounds in my 1st trimester and my dr. said that is fine. On the other hand, my friend only gained 3 pounds, but she is really sick each day, so I think it really varies.

During the first trimester I gained hardly anything-maybe 3-5 pounds total. I didn't really start to pack on the pound until the end of my second trimester and into my third.

Depends on the person IMO. I lost weight during the 1st trimester due to Morning sickness and my son is healthy....

I had my 12 week appt Mon and had gained 2 lbs. My doctor said this is the trimester that varies most but avg is about 6 lbs.

I think I gained between 6 and 8 pounds, can't remember though.
I start my 3rd trimester the end of next week and I was up 16 pounds last week, if that helps!

I heard between 5 and 10 lbs. As of my last app't., I was up 5 lbs. I have to eat frequently in order not to feel nauseous, so I attribute those 5 lbs. to Saltine weight.

I gained 5 lbs. during my first trimester and my dr. said that was perfect.
I was afraid I'd gained more because the only thing that held off the nausea was eating. I guess I didn't eat as much as I thought I did.
