Hip Pain
Since 5 or 6 weeks (I'm 8W 4D now), I have had hip pain in my left hip only. It hurts more later in the day and when I sit up rather than lying down. I just read online that it can be because of the hormones that weaken the joints (I guess in prep for delivery), but pain typically occurs in the later weeks. Has anyone else had this? What did you do for relief?

Re: Hip Pain
I haven't had hip pain, but I remember at week 8-9 I had a weird cramp on my lower right side, then the next night on my lower left side. It wasn't like an AF cramp - it was more like a cramp I used to get when I ran track in school, and I was able to massage it until the pain subsided. I don't know if this is similar the pain you felt in your hip...

Re: Hip Pain
Yes I did and still do (Im almost 20 weeks). My dr. said it is your pelvis expanding to make room for the baby and your expanding uterus. It could also be related to round ligament pains which is the stretching of your ligaments to accommodate the growing uterus. I started getting it early just like you, but it was worse when sleeping. Some days it is really bad and others it is fine. It helps a little when I stretch it out (almost like rotate both hips out at the same time if that makes sense.) I havent really found anything that helps it 100% though. But my dr. said it is definately normal. (Mine started only on left side and when sitting, but then moved to both sides and when sleeping). Good Luck!!! ETA: I actually posted a "hip pain" post a few weeks ago about the same thing! Hip pain was one of the first things I noticed about being pregnant.
