For those of you with oil heat...

What company do you use/ How much do you pay? I just bought a house with oil heat a month ago & filled my tank for the first time. $482.00 Chat Icon It was 2.35 per gallon at Mid Island fuel.

That was about how much ours was the first time we had to fill it. We have Slomins but we have a balanced billing plan now.

Re: For those of you with oil heat...

We do the contract with service and a lock in price...
2005- Slomin's - $2.69/gallon
2006- Lewis - $2.64/gallon
2007- still searching but may do Slomin's, I just got an email with a lockin price of $2.49/gallon

So far we have spent anywhere from $1200 to $1500 year on oil.

We use Petro, they have automatic fill up every few months. We have a ceiling plan with our oil and also a service contract. We pay $180/month every month with their balanced payment. It would be less if we excluded the contract.

I do COD & I almost always use JC Discount oil, they beat any other price by two cents. I just got 200 gallons for $2.19. I have gotten it as low as $1.79 from them.

Re: For those of you with oil heat...

I use General Oil. Our service contract is $54.26 and we are capped at $2.59...I have paid anywhere from $2.19 - $2.49/gallon.......with a $.03 off per gallon for prompt pay (payment within 10 days). I believe we got our first 100 gallons free for signing up with them.

We've been very happy with the company.

We locked in back in November.

$2.59 gallon with auto fill. Our service contract is included. It also includes if the oil tank leaks. It's an old tank. It's 24 hr service. We spend about $1700-$1800 per year to heat the house..

We pay $2.34/gallon. We do not do ballanced billing. Locked in the rate in February.
