Strep B Test
Next week Monday I will be doing my Strep B test and cultures. Can someone tell me what to expect at these testing? TIA!!!

Its just a swab like a pap but not even as bad. They take a swab and send it off and tell ya the results at the next visit. Nice and simple

The doctor let me do the swab myself in the bathroom, not bad at all...the antibiotics they give you in the hospital if you test + sting a bit but nothing major ...good luck

exactly! i get my results tomorrow! It was a little uncomfy but quick. nothing to compare to the internal ugh!

I am not looking forward to the internals especially because of what my friends tell me.

My dr did both ends on the bottom. I had group b strep but did not feel the meds. It onlly made my arm feel heavy. Having them put the iv into my hand was the most uncomfortable part of the entire thing.

Not a big deal at all....just a quick swab.
And dont' worry too much about internals either - mine never hurt, and I think it's the same for a lot of women!

Ooh, good information to know. I go for my Strep B test and first internal on Thursday... (told my friend I was glad to have women doctors as they tend to have smaller hands!!!)
