At my DH suggestion...
I am posting my list of things to do BEFORE BABY is born..he felt that since I am a BTDT some might be something that a first timer might not think of...These are all things that I have found make life a lot easier for when you come home:
1. Buy Birthday Cards for all upcoming birthdays ( I do 3 months)
2. Schedule Mortgage payments/Credit Card Payments/ETC for a couple of months in advance..(so if you forget to do this it doesnt mess up your credit) If you dont already do so set up banking online.
3. Buy Paper Plates, Cups, Etc. So much easier than doing dishes or even loading and unloading dishwasher. Think 2 month supply. Comes in handy for all the guests that stop by to see baby.
4. Pick up some frozen cakes (Sara Lee etc) to have to offer to guests that stop by to see baby. So you have something to serve along with coffee.
5. If you have the storage space stock up on Paper Towels, TP, Laundry Detergent, Cleaning Supplies, ETC. Makes a world of difference not to have to run out on endless errands.
6. Purchase Stamps for all the Thank Yous you'll be sending out.
7. Make list of what baby item needs what size battery and purchase batteries. Have at least a back up for each item. (Keep List in pocket book for future reference.)

I was just thinking of the cake thing the other day. I'm sure my house will be Grand Central station after the baby arrives so having some treats around is a good idea.
