NPR: anniversary
so our first anniversary is coming up... we want to keep it simple and small since we need so many things pre-baby and our bdays are coming up too. what can i do for DH?? i feel bad just getting him a card?

our 1st just passed we gave one another cards and went out to dinner.. we spent the whole day together. and we had our top of our wedding cake.. which was aweful but we did it.

I would make a reservation @ yours /his favorite restaurant. I like the massage idea someone else suggested.
Maybe go to a Bwayt show or movie. Do something fun that may be hard to do with a newborn.

Our 2 year was in June, we went to the Central Park zoo and dinner and just enjoyed each other's company.

Ok I'm going to be the cheeseball here. Since I've been on bed rest... forever... I haven't been able to shop for anything (both b/c I can't go out and b/c we are down one income). Anyway, my third anniversary is Tuesday and I will be making my dh a cd of songs that have meant something to us throughout our relationship.
I know it is corny... but for mother's day I made my mom a short photo story of the two of us and for father's day I made my dad a music cd of "father/daughter" songs. Both were a HUGE hit and DH kept complaining that I never did that for him... little does he know...

ours is a week before my due date. I think I am going to get him one of those digital picture frames he can put on his desk at work. he can take care of planning dinner!

Our 2nd just passed, and we were both going to get each other a small gift. But we had just closed on our house and have been doing work with that ever since, so we wound up with little time to buy the gifts.
We wound up buying cards and going out for dinner at the restaurant where we got married. So it was very nice!
For your first anniversary, the traditional gift is paper, so if you want to find simple gifts, you could always buy each other books.
