Great Neck
Does anyone know anything about this area? Looking to rent a 2 br - not in a house though - and preferably near the train. How is the area near the train? Does anyone know what are the good locations in Great Neck and if there are any to steer away from? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

There are lots of apts in Great Neck, but not sure how many rentals exist. The area near the train is cute - lots of stores and it can get congested. Good Luck!

Stay away from the area across from the hospital on Community Drive. I used to teach in Great Neck and I rememebr it was a bad area. The town itself is very congested but beautiful!

i think you mean spinney hill - not such a desireable area. the kids there go to g. neck and manhasset schools. there was an article about that area in the times this weekend.
if you want to go towards the old part of town, you would have to take the bus to the train
right in town i have seen signs for rentals in the buildings over the stores

I've been living here 2 years, DH about 10. It's nice here--not many areas to avoid other than that area mentioned around Community Drive. The area right near the train is pretty congested, but if you walk a few blocks away from the heart of town, it's less so.
The train is great--really can't be beat.
