Japanese hair Straightening
Can you do JHS when you are pregnant? I'd love to get it done but am not sure if you can do it while you are pregnant.

Re: Japanese hair Straightening
i dont think u can. the chemicals are very strong and breathing them can be toxic to baby as well as being absorbed into your scalp!

I thought about it but decided against it. Do an internet search on jhs during pg to read some articles on the subject

Re: Japanese hair Straightening
My doctor told me absolutely not. The chemicals are very strong. Soon as I pop this kid out I'm getting the Brazilian done. I can not deal with this frizzy hair anymore!

I am waiting until after to go for my touch up. I will be long over-due, but I am not chancing it with such chemicals.

Re: Japanese hair Straightening
The main thing is that your hormones are so different right now, and if you were to get it done, your hair might react differently to the chemical and not come out right. I would wait till a couple of months after you have the baby and your hormones get back to normal.

Plus, the fumes. It takes a few hours (depending on your hair length). I wouldn't be comfortable around those fumes for that long.

Re: Japanese hair Straightening
I was told by one place that yes I could have JHS, then, another said no. My doctor has never heard of it but because no one can give me a clear decision I have decided against it.
