the mind of a nutter
so Saturday my husband plans a little biking excursion with his friend.
this is GREAT, b/c it got him out of the house and I was able to do things I don't feel like I can do when he is around.
I organized our bedroom, HAND scrubbed the floors/bathroom etc...things that take so much time and I hate being home with him on the weekends when we can be out having fun...
anywho, he left Sat morn at like 9:30...and the hours go by and I am scrubbing and scrubbing and getting AGGRAVATED that he's not home....
as I am getting more and more annoyed I stopped to think "what is wrong with me? I am getting everything done...I have my "cleaning music" on...I don't have to worry about entertaining him or that he's bored....why am I so mad that he's not home yet"
then I figured it out...I was completely JEALOUS that he was out (which I NEED him to be) and I was home cleaning (which I NEEDED to be).
I can't do certain things when he is around, but if I am working and he's having fun, I am jealous!
am I alone......

I know what you mean. DH went out with friends for the day on Sunday doing 'guy' things. I contemplated cleaning like a mad woman. Then I thought, "Why?" He's having fun, why should I be cleaning? So I did my own thing and enjoyed my day.

This is exactly why I don't clean.
If I didn't clean it wouldn't get done...
and all hell would break loose
unless you have a cleaning lady...that would be the ultimate!
I'd also hire someone to fan me and feed me grapes....NOT a eunuch either

I am the EXACT same way. Usually I'm fine until too much time passes...when he first leaves I'm happy, and if hes not back by the time I expected I am wondering why he is taking so damn long and I get annoyed!!
I don't think my issue is about him having fun and me not, because usually I can totally be happy by myself. I think its more about him having fun and me missing out on what hes doing/experiencing.
So strange!

I am the same way!!!
As happy as I am that DH plays softball with his buddies every now and then, allowing me the time to clean the house, iron, etc.....I get really bent out of shape when he comes home all tan, and i'm red-faced from sweat.

I'm the same way too! I get so much done on days like that but I get so annoyed that he's out having fun or doing something w/o me! It does feel good to get it done though.

Same here, I get very irritated when I'm doing house work while he's having fun. And if I didn't do it, it wouldn't get done either - its very annoying at times. I try to do something fun for myself after or make him take me somewhere:)
