Nah - they have TONS of herbal remedy shops down there....stuff from all over the world.
I'm not quite sure where you could get it out here....maybe a health food store? I don't even know any to recommend!
I learned about it on Oprah. I think its easiest to get in juice form.

Try Robeks. It's on Merrick Rd. in Merrick. That's the first place I've ever heard of it. They serve it there. Check out their website www.Robeks.com
I've never had anything from there, just checked out the place.

I have met two people who love
this juice
I have bought Acai juice from Wild by Nature. I also know someone who is from Brazil who says it is very well known there for its health benefits.
I do not know where you can get it here in pure form though.

There are companies such as monavie that sell the juice 'cocktails' but they say acai 'blend'. I've heard good things about it though.

DH has been drinking Acai for the last 2 years - he's completely addicted. He gets acai powder from a health store in bayside (health nuts I think - in the bay terrace shopping center), and he gets sambazon drinks off the internet and at the health store in our neighborhood (we're in LIC)
It has a taste that has chocolate undertones - it's pretty good. I prefer the taste of pomegranates and blueberries - but the acai berry is supposed to be something like 100 times more potent than a blueberry in terms of antioxidents.
