portion of down payment paid at contract
Can I pay the portion of the downpayment given at contract by personal check? Or does it have to be a bank check?

we paid both deposits by personal check only one that was bank check is at closing for us
(nj, dont know if its diff. in ny)

We didn't make a good faith deposit with our offer, so I didn't have anything to go on.

We gave a personal chack at our contract signing, so no problems. We have to get a bank check for our closing.

haha i feel your anxiety,.. dh just picked up our bank check for our closing tomorrow am.. thats alot of money!

Us too, I double checked with our lawyer since and he said a personal check was ok for the portion paid at contract.

sorry, we paid the portion of our down payment at contract with a personal check.
We paid the remainder at closing with a bank check
