what do you think about using one? ive heard so many negative things about it im so torn now

Never got one for either of my boys. Its a safety issue as well as a developmental one. It really does not help babies walk. In fact, some doctors think that it holds them back from walking on their own.
My reasons for never using one: We have hardwood floors throughout my house, and I did not want either of them to bump into the walls, or go sliding across the room into someone or something (or scratch my floors LOL). Also, they can tip over if your baby tries to go from one room with carpet into one without and vice versa.

Mine never tipped and DD started walking at 10 1/2 months, so I don't think it held her back either
