Please help me with...
My mom will be turning 60 in September.
I want to make this a very special birthday for her. She is so depressed and not embracing the fact that she is turning 60 very well at all.
I would love to send her on vacation but I am not able to do that due to circumstances in the family right now.
This gift has to be something different..no broadway shows...no spas..something sentimental and different.
PLEASE PLEASE, if you have any ideas at all, let me know! I need to start planning and buying now!

I love the ideas mentioned...what about a scrapbook with photos, memories and mementos. You can include a letter to your mom, letting her know how much she means.
I like the professional family photo idea too. We have done that twice...gathered up our families for a photo, and they really are great and meaningful.

Its not a big thing , but what I did for my Moms 50th was in the invites, I asked everyone to write her a letter and bring it to the party. Told them to write anything they wanted to. A letter to her, memories, anything....
Then I got a nice album and went in the back room and put all the letters in the album....and gave to her as a gift.
ETA- On the same way of thinking, I went to a bridal shower once where they told everyone to make ONE scrap book page of picstures of them and the guest of honor and bring that page to the party. then they put all the pages in a scrap book. It was great cause each person made such different things.

I love the idea of having everyone write a note to her of what she means to them or even a great memory of a good time with her.
You could also do a surprise party if that's the kind of thing that she would like.

I love this idea too but I would give the option of writing a letter or doing the page. One of my non-scrapping friends was asked to make a page and she is totally intimidated by the request. As the person assembling the pages, you could always make the page and add their letter.
