I'm just curious if you locked in on a mortgage what rate you got....we're looking at a 30 yr fixed & the lowest we got was 7...which seems high.

We're going to check out Chase tomorrow. That was thru Bank of America...but the closing costs are nothing.

it's exactly what i was saying in the other thread. they charge you a higher rate b/c they are waiving their closing costs. they charge you a higher rate so that they can recover their pmi & closin costs... it's too good to be true.. ain't nuttin' for free in this world.

Hi...DH is a bank manager. He works for WaMu and they have a similar product to Bank of America. It is called a Mortgage Plus. You pay few or no closing costs but it results in a higher rate. The only thing good about the WaMu product is that you can lock and unlock the rate as they go up and down.

He says mortages are ranging between 6.5% and 7% depending upon the day but you are looking at 3-6% closing costs. He has a mortgage specialist at his branch...FM me if you need info Chat Icon

I haven't locked yet, but Bethpage Federal Credit Union is sitting between 6.5% and 6.625%. We are most likely going with them as well.
