avon in obx, north carolina
a friend of ours arranged a house rental in the outer banks in avon. dh and i are going. i've never heard of it before. i've heard of other places down there - duck, corolla, hatteras, nags head - but not avon. Anyone know anything about it? thx.

my parents own a house in avon!! its GREAT down there! its on hatteras island, which parts of it are national seashore... so its not as built up and touristy as duck, corolla, nags head... but thres lots of stuff to do. theres mini golf courses, a movie theater, you can walk up to the top of the lighthouse, rent jet skiis, take the free ferry over to ocracoke island, and theres lots of good restaurants in the area, too. let me know if you want more info!  lol maybe its my parents house they're renting....
i'll have to say that avon is the most "built up" town on hatteras island, so thats good FM me with any more questions!
