What do you prefer...
In a pediatrician?
Do you prefer someone in a solo practice or someone who is a part of a group?
I know that we go through the same question when it comes to OB/GYN's.
I was just wondering if anyone has any feelings one way or the other regarding pediatricians.

For the baby, as well as myself I prefer practices with a group of doctors. I like the guarantee that someone will always be available.

I think I prefer a group only so that there will be coverage should our primary doc be away, having an emergency, etc. Or if we need to get in immediately, I would guess it's easier with a group practice.

I prefer a group of doctors..that way there is always someone on call that you know rather than say the doctor goes away and you wind up with some strange doctor calling you back.

My group is three doctors which I think is a great size -- small enough that I've gotten to know all of the doctors well but big enough that there is great coverage. I wouldn't want to be in a tremendous group.

I think I would feel more comfortable in a group practice. Hopefully I would like all or most of the docs there.
