pedicure?

Shocking as this might sound I have NEVER gotten a pedicure before....we are going to Mexico for our honeymoon (belated!) in a few weeks and I want to get one... so I have a few questions....

1) how long does a pedicure last? (could I get one now and it still look good for August 12th?)

2) is it like a manicure where it's better to have your nails a little longer and let them trim them for you? or should I cut short on my own?

3) recommendations for a cheap (under $15) place in Mineola/Garden City/Westbury area....

thanks!! :)

Re: pedicure?

I usually get one a day or two before an event so it looks new.

Mine usually lasts 1 month

I trim my nails at home and then they still trim them and fix the cuticles.

Sorry, can't recommend a place by you!

Re: pedicure?

I like to get them the day before something because that is when they are so shiny.

They will trim for you but if they are short, they will usually ask you if you want them triimmed.

I find mine last about 8 days before I see any chipping.

If you are going to the beach, you may want to bring an extra bottle of top coat if you can since the sand will dull the finish.

>up to 2 weeks - if you get french, less than that - it gets discolored

2) is it like a manicure where it's better to have your nails a little longer and let them trim them for you? or should I cut short on my own?

>doesn't matter - i prefer not to go right after i've clipped because the skin is too sensitive

3) recommendations for a cheap (under $15) place in Mineola/Garden City/Westbury area....

>can't recommend one - and pedicures are usually at least $20

Re: pedicure?

I get one every 2 weeks, so I would go a few days before you go away, so it looks really nice!

You may want to bring your own stuff like clippers or cuticle trimmers if you're skeeved.

And it's okay to giggle if they tickle!Chat Icon

Re: pedicure?

I go to the nail salon in the Country Glen Center on Old Country Road in Carle Place. I can't remember the name. I think the pedicures are $15.00.

Same here, I go every other week. The nail salon I go to charges $15 for a pedi if you go Mon-Wed. Otherwise its $20.

Not them - the one next to the Carters outlet. Seems clean. I've been going to them for about a year now for manis, pedis & waxing and so far so good.
