Spinoff of cord banking

Was anyone's OB just not that into it?

My doctor doesn't seem to be a huge fan - he says if you only plan on having 1 child, and there is no history of genetic issues - the odds of you ever using it are slim to none. He felt if we did need it, the public banks would more than likely have a match. (I didn't initially realize that you can't use your own cord blood if something is wrong - although it does make sense).

He wasn't totally against it, but he doesn't seem to be a big fan of it.

Mine is for it.

But we may donate it instead. When I mentioned it to my Dr. she was all for that as well.
