Very dirty hardwood floors
Hi everyone,
My wood floors are really grimy & disgusting. They are in an extremely high traffic area. Does anyone have any pointers about what to use to clean them that will get them really clean & shiny? We're having company over the weekend.

I use DEP (they have it in home depot) and a microfiber mop. You spray it directly on the floor.

Is it hardwood or laminate?
I know Depot sells a spray that cleans wood floors of all kinds.
I attach a rag to my swiffer and just spray the floor and swiffer it up, done!

I'm sure this will get moved to the HOME board but I use Orange Glo & really like it.
You just squirt it on the floor (not diluted in water) and mop.

It's hardwood.
Just the spray stuff will get them clean? They are really pretty dirty.

Swiffer has a Hardwood Floor system available at grocery stores. It has a cleaning solution and a shining solution. The floors in my office got NASTY becuase my sons are always in there with their snacks. It works great!

Swiffer and use the dyson. If this is an entry way could you get an area rug to buffer the dirt from outside into your home?

Pass a mop with Murphy's oil and then do the swiffer over it. The swiffer is a Godsend with keeping up with the floors.

Also, will the mop or swiffer actually get the gunk off? Or do I spot clean beforehand?
As you can tell, I'm sort of a novice floor-cleaner. Our apartment had all carpets.

I use a swiffer (dry) first and then I use Bruce Hardwood Floor cleaner with a felt mop.
