Homeowners Insurance

Those of you who have recently purchased a home-- which insurance company do you use and what do you pay (FM me if you don't want to publicize it). I have heard that many companies are pulling out of LI and I don't want to pick a company that will do this! State Farm is on the top of my list right now, but if any of you have had good experiences with other companies, please let me know!

even when you call to get a quote, they will tell if they can take you on or not.

we used liberty mutual when state farm turned us away due to me be 20 miles close to the great south bay... its silly to be honest with you.

20 miles? Are you sure it is that far? My house is about 3 miles from the bay and I spoke to two different State Farm agencies who had no problem insuring me.

We just got our policy and went with State Farm.
Ours is $1,460/yr for $333k plus 20% for dwelling coverage only. It covers our mortgage.

We just did the minimum coverage required by our mortgage company for now. I plan to get more in the future (umbrella, more jewelry, etc) but my brain was fried with figuring all this out.

We are in Holbrook by the LIE.
