I didn't even know that Long Island could get tornados. I've only lived here eight years, but I don't think I've ever heard of a single tornado hitting.
I grew up in MI and tornados were a common thing there. I remember in school we would have tornado drills and everyone had to get in the hallway and put their head between their knees. Scary stuff!
