OMG THAT IS MY LIFE at this OFFICE!!
I am hardly allowed to be on the phone for personal calls  but even when I am taking detailed messages from clients, these azzholes will hover over me and start telling me stuff as if I can listen to two separate people at once!!

My boss does that all the time.
And when I give him the "I'm on the phone" hand gesture (instead of the hand gesture I'd really like to give him) he just STANDS THERE.
Lurking over me until I'm off the phone. It's so annoying...especially because it's almost never anything important!!

i'm with you girls! my boss does that to me all the time too. even when it's his boss i'm talking to, he still tries to talk to me.
What i'd like to tell him is that although God blessed me with two ears............I can only listen to one person at a time a$$hole.

Oh yes, this is the other side of it.. its often NOTHING important.. my boss will stand there until I"m done, just to say "I'm heading out to lunch, email me if you need me..." (the SAME CRAP he says EVERYTIME he goes out to lunch!)
UM .. HELLO?? can you just MOUTH that to me, I can read lips

It is so annoying, I think it's one of the hazards of working in an office, and I hate it more when it's some random person that just stands there and is waiting to ask me a stupid question - like can I borrow your stapler??

I have to admit - my admin seems to always be on personal phone calls, so I've stopped saying "Oh I'll come back later" - now I just interrupt her. I know it's rude but work has to get done sometime. You know between her coffee breaks, gym breaks, lunch at her desk and internet surfing. She's been in the job too long - I'm glad she's moving on.

we are in semi cubes - i mean its open, kind of, but theres a person in front of me who is constantly peeking her head at me when i'm on the phone. for no other reason then to listen.. oh i hate it hate it
