We used Empire Carpet - we had our LR, stairway, hallway, and the MB and the 2nd largest bedroom carpeted. It came to be about $4K.
ETA: We didn't get berber carpet - we got nylon carpet that was of a higher grade material.

It all depends on what carpet you select...We just did 2 rooms, 10x10 and 13x13 and it was $1200 for an average quality berber.

We just put carpet in our new house. We did 3 rooms - 13X10, 9X9, 11X10 of a good quality plush nylon at it was $2100 with Empire today.

we just booked with pat's carpet in bayshore (we have used them before and were happy) for the house we are buying... a stair runner with a 17ft hallway runner as well as wall to wall carpeting in the master bedroom is costing us $1500. that is with installation and the ripping up and removing of the old carpet in the bedroom.

We just had our carpet installed by home depot. It was 600.00. They have a special right now 99.00 for install no matter who many rooms. They did a good job and it's good quality!
