Is this tacky?

I'm having a small bridal shower for my daughter next month. Her maid of honor lives in WA. I would like to surpise my daughter by having her at the party. Would it be OK to ask the MOH to split the cost of the ticket or should I pick up the price since I'm asking her to come?

Re: Is this tacky?

If you're the one surprising your daughter with her coming, you should probably pay. If you just invited her and she RSVPd yes, that's another story...

I agree - I would wait and see what she says about coming - if she was planning on coming anyway, then there's no dilemma.

Re: Is this tacky?

I would propose it to her gently:

"Susie", I'm sure [daughter] would love to have you at her shower. It would be great to see you again! If you can make it, I'd like to pay for half of your ticket!
