Gift for a briss

I have a good friend's son briss this week. Is $100 an appropriate gift? Should I buy something off the registry? She didn't have a shower but I am meeting her baby today and am going to be bringing a basket of baby gifts. Not sure what to do.

Re: Gift for a briss

I think savings bonds are popular gifts for a briss.

You can give what you would normally give for a shower at a bris.

Re: Gift for a briss

Whatever you would get for a baby shower or spend $$$ wise is fine. I've always gotten registry gifts - esp if they didn't have a shower. I've never gotten a savings bond.

Re: Gift for a bris

I wouldn't get a savings bond for a bris, I would get something off their registry or a nice outfit...

just to let you know, we had a big bris and no one gave us a bond....

I would give money in the denomiation of Chai (sp) which is a derivative of 18. 18 is a good luck number.

So 18, 36..etc..
