Sal's Fruit Tree

Has anyone ever been to this place? I see it advertised in the papers all the time and have passed by it a million times but have never been. Is there produce & stuff any good? It's on Sunrise in Lindenhurst/Copaigue (kind of across from the Target & Home Depot.

Thanks

Yup, I went there to purchase flats of flowers. It seems as if they have great stuff inside too...

I've been there. There is also a butcher inside.

We don't go there a lot, because the only time we have is on the weekends - and on the weekend it's a madhouse!

If I could go during the week, I would make the separate trip there to go get fruits/veggies/meats.

Decent prices and fresh veggies and fruits.... The meat market is okay.

On the weekend, it's so bad I've had to restrain myself from bumping old ladies with the cart and pushing over young children.

There. I've said it. But get OUT of my WAY lady!!! You don't need to check every strawberry in the cello pack....

I've always wondered about this place too. I might have to stop in and check it out. I'll make sure I go during the week though!

If you go and have a child, don't try to bring in a stroller!

I went with my son who is still in a stroller and they have these steel pilons blocking the entrace to prevent people from taking the carts from the store. Well, after asking an employee if they had another entrance I could use he grabbed the fron of my stroller and started to lift it up and over the pilon and the stroller started to tip and my son almost ended up tipped over onto the sidewalk.

When I yelled stop! he got all mad and said something to the effect of "Well, you were the one who wanted to bring your stroller in with you"

Yeah, I could have used one of the carts but my son has food allergies and the carts may have food residue on them and I didn't have my shopping cart cover with me.

If that place ever caught fire (G*d forbid), people would have a hard time getting out the entrance, its got to be a fire hazard.

-Vent over-

The only thing that I saw that was "good' about the place was that it had fruit and vegetables not normally found in regular grocery stores. Other than that I didn't think it was great at all.

Re: Sal's Fruit Tree

I agree w/the above poster-and Definaltey dont try going w/2 little ones!

Its certainly not kid-friendly, I had to carry both my kids from the parking lot to the inside of the store, bc shopping carts dont fit thru the grates.

This place reminds me of the fruit stands they have in the city-which are great, but this place seemed dirty to me and the prices arent so great!
