DR..

I had 3 consecutive miscarriages and now I feel like I need answers.. Can someone recommend a fertility dr. on long island that can oerhaps help me....

I don't know anyone specifically that specialises in recurrent MC. but I am a patient at North Shore UNiversity Hospital. I see Dr Scholl, but he does IVF.

There are 3 other drs there - Rosenfeld, Chu and Cohen and all are great

I go to Dr. Brenner at Long Island IVF. I think he is great and I know many others on here have been happy with him as well. There are two other fertility doctors there, and they have offices in Lake Success, Melville and I think Port Jeff.

I go to Dr. Flisser at RMANY - the Garden City office. He's great and they just recently opened this satellite office so its always empty. The main office is in the City. Not sure if he "specializes" but you can call and find out, I'm sure.

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I too had 3 consecutive miscarriages in under a year so I can completely understand your feelings. This board is a wonderful community of informations, support and understanding..i hope you find some comfort from not being alone..

It is crazy but I found many of the dr's still feel multiple losses are "just bad luck" etc..which is soo frustrating and i told my husband if i heard that one more time i was going to strangle our OB..so i knew it was time to move on and look for answers..you really have to be your own self advocate in this field.

We see Dr. Braverman, who Melissa mentioned, He is part of SIRM and does specialize in reccurent loss and infertility. He is not an RE but an Ob who specialzes in this. He is a little more off the cuff then some other dr's I have met but very caring and his staff have really been amazing to me.

There are also some specialists in the city who will focus on this but unfortunately alot of them do not take any insurance. I think Braverman is a good step to at least start because he will run a full work up of tests to try and find some reason for this and more importantly a plan of action.

I am sorry for your losses. I see a high risk ob/gyn. He ran a rlp on me after it was discovered my sister had a genetic clotting disorder. Because he is a proactive doctor he ran the rlp on me even though I was not ttc yet and had never had a m/c. Thanks to him it was discovered I have auto immune and clotting disorders before I started ttc. I know he is not a specialist but he does work with 2 perinatologists on the island. If you want his info fm me.
