Re: work advice needed..long...
3 months notice is plenty...I would talk to you boss about it and they dont' give you any satisfaction then you will just have to come down with the flu that weekend

Re: work advice needed..long...
DH says to go talk to boss and let them know that you already changed your plans for them to work a Sat. and that unless they want to reimburse you for the expense of your trip, they had better give you Mon.
I think that if you draw too much attention to the date, it may blow up into more than it should be. They may turn around and question why you bought tix for something without clearing the date first. I wouldn't say boo to anyone. 3 months is plenty of time for them to forget what date you actually requested.....so when you call in sick, hopefully it won't ring any bells.
2 completely different kinds of advice, I fear we didn't help at all and may have confused you even more.
Let us know what you do. Good luck!
oh.....and I'm sorry your boss is being so sh!tty to you

Eek. I agree with Nicole AND Debbie. I'd probably go the route of meeting with the office manager.

Mich
i wouldn't say anything
if you draw attention to it and get denied and then call in sick, it's going to look very obvious
i know you want to leave and look elsewhere - but it's better to do it on your own terms

Re: work advice needed..long...
I would leave it alone and call in sick. Maybe something will change before then (they'll decide to use someone else for the event).
Since you're handling something on that Saturday for them, you can start your sick act then.
