ever hear of "AmeriCredit"???
whoever these ppl are they keepcalling me and leaving me voicemails.... but they are automated. "please call AmericaCredit toll free at # or visit us online @ website"
i dont have americredit, i dont want americredit. i never inquired with americredit.
i called them and the woman said she doesnt have my phone number in her database and that i should just answer the call next time (umm i would if they'd call when i had my phone with me when they call) and talk to whoever is calling me.
she said maybe someone put me down as a reference if they want a loan??? i highly doubt that. no one i know around here is getting a car and everyone i know on LI already has one.
anyone ever hear of anything like this?

Sounds like a collection agency. You can send them a letter to cease and desist contacting you. Send it certified return receipt

If it's a collection agency and it's a legitimate debt, they have every right to contact you, providing they aren't harassing you. (A phone call a day or so isn't harassment)
I googled it, though, and it's not a collection agency.
I found 2 Americredits, though - one for auto financing and one for career development.
Odd...

Maybe they want to offer you some life insurance....I think I got something a few weeks back about them offering life insurance or some kind of policy for something other than car loans.

Re: ever hear of "AmeriCredit"???
have you filled anything out online recently? even if it has nothing to do with an auto loan, some people will find something related to an auto loan and just start soliciting you for business. its such a PITA!

This is not true. Read this
