Has IF changed your relationship?

Do you feel like IF is changing you and your relationship with DH, and others around you?
I feel like a totally different person, and even towards my DH. He is supportive and all, I guess it is just me.
Anyone else?

No, our relationship has changed. In some good ways - he is very supportive and caring when we get a negative. We value our time together more for some reason.
In some bad ways - A LOT less spontaneous sex. I find my drive much lower since I feel like this is my fault, plus we can't for a few weeks in every month. And I feel like I have closed myself off a little more emotionally.

Yes, much stronger, although I have to agree with Gerty about the lack of spontaneous sex, that's the real downside

Yes. It has made us stronger. Not just as a couple, but we each had to draw on strength from within to get us thru the bad times.

I feel IF brought my husband and I much closer. Our relationship has grown and matured from this. And that is one thing I could actually be thankful for, but my friends I just have patience for anymore. For some reason I distant myself from them.

Re: Has IF changed your relationship?

DH and I went through something bigger than IF to change our relationship for the better. IF was just another curveball thrown at us. Throughout it all, we were there for each other when one blamed themselves and so on.

I also agree that the biggest obstacle after awhile was keeping sex interesting and not just a chore

Re: Has IF changed your relationship?

Having DH in my life has made me want a child even more. I pray that our children have his strength and common sense. His positivity inspires me and keeps me on track. He is very supportive and never breaks - he leaves that to me. He also yells at my belly when I get AF or cramps or a negative on a HPT. It is pretty cute.

As far as the rest of my family goes, they don't bother us and they don't ask questions which is good, but they listen when we need to talk.

There are many times when I want to distance myself from the world including family and friends. I don't like being social as much and I have to force myself to partake in day to day stuff. Just about anything can trigger my disappointment.

mine too I think. Obviously it can be stressful and sometimes men find it hard to deal with their wives' sadness or depression. I think that is the biggest struggle for us because although I try to stay positive sometimes it gets to you...

This is exactly how I feel.

Re: Has IF changed your relationship?

Yes it def. has. This has been our private struggle (we haven't told our families yet). I think it has re-defined our relationship in a way. I have always been strong and in control of situations in my life. This is something beyond my control (totally out of my comfort zone). DH has become extremely supportive (he always was) with our struggle and is often times the voice of reason when I get crazed over this stuff.
We have become more so now than ever our own family.
