I love them too!! We normally go to St. Pat's parade in South Boston, and they play all morning. Such a great sound, joyous, yet emotional.
Except when Ross played them on Friends.

 He also made women everywhere second guess Tooth Whitening!
Remember that episode when he plays his little keyboard and he gets that Star Wars Laser Gun sound effect in the background and he darts from them as he's playing

my dad has always played them...when I was younger and a group of us would get off hte school bus we could all hear them and they would laugh and make fun of me...I hated when he practiced at home because I couldn't do my homework or talk on the phone....now when I got old enough to appreciate St Paddy's day for ALLLLLL it glory...well then I realllly started appreciating those pipes! LOL

I always find them depressing, I guess it is because i associate them with funerals since they play them at all the funerals for my family members.
