NJ & PA certification
Anyone know what I would have to do to transfer my NY school counselor certification to NJ and PA?

Re: NJ & PA certification
When I went for FL certification, I contacted the FL Board of Ed and they walked me through it so that would be my suggestion. Good luck!

Re: NJ & PA certification
I was considered for a job a few years ago in NJ and they told me I couldn't do it because I didn't have a year of teaching experience. They actually work student teaching (in addition to a counseling internship) into their grad program. I don't know if the rules have changed but let me know if you find out differently.

Re: NJ & PA certification
i know you have to take the Praxis first in New Jersey, then that will help your license transfer over

Re: NJ & PA certification
Call the state depts of education - it's really different for each state. For Florida, my school counselor certification was reciprocal and it was really easy. No tests or anything!
