Friends And Friends
Do you allow your friends to pick your friends?
If you have a friend and they do not get along with another friend... does that color your opinion or effect your relationship with either of them?
If you have a friend and you start to form a friendship with someone that your friend doesn't like - for whatever reason - do you halt the development of the new friendship?
How much influence do your friends have on who you connect with?

I have a couple of different groups of friends.
My friends don't really influence who I'm friends with though. If two don't get along - I don't hang out with them together.

No to all of them, I am past the point of having to worry if Mary is going to like Jane. I think we are all grown ups and should be able to put or likes/dislikes a side and move on. I am MOH in my friends wedding I HATE one of the BM I have since HS, it will not stop us from doing things together for the sake of the bride. This is mutual hate also, she's not to fond of me either. I deal with it, life os to short to worry about that. JMHO

At this point in my life, if I had a friend who was going to be negative about someone else in my life, they can have the boot.
No, I would not let other people influence who my friends are.
I am thankful that all my close friends get along. Though they don't have out with each other if I'm not around - we enjoy being together as a group.
Lately, my number of friends has decreased, but I am thankful for that. The friends that I DO have are the best ones I could ask for!

Honestly, I don't have enough friends for this to even be an issue! and the friends I do have, I dont hang out with them enough to ever really meet THEIR friends....

no, if my friends dont like each other thats their problem. i dont get involved or take sides if one is fighting with another.

My closest friends are pretty disconnected from eachother, so this hasn't been an issue.

It would depend on the situation, but probably not. I prefer to make up my mind on my own.
How much influence do your friends have on who you connect with?
So far, not much. I've made friends in the weirdest circumstances.

I just try to do things separately.
but thankfully all of my friends are "grown ups" and don't play the "I;m not soing if soandso is there" card...b/c I cannot tolerate that.

Unfortunately, I let this affect me during college. My friends from before college never got along with my friends at college. And on a Friday night, I'd choose my before-college friends much too often. I missed out on a lot because of it.
Those friends do not stop me from being friends with others though. I'm beyond caring about if they are going to have a good time when we are all out together, which is hardly ever anyway. I used to once upon a time but quickly got tired of that.

I tend to seperate friends by interest. The gardening friends don't meet the internet friends. The internet friends don't meet the photography friends, etc.
So it doesn't really come up. I've never been given an ultimatum - be my friend or else kind of thing - but I imagine if I did, I'd have to seriously question how much of a "friend" that friend was.
I had a party years ago and invited three sets of friends from different areas of my life. Within 10 minutes, they had all seperated into their own groups and didn't mingle. So mostly, I don't even try anymore.

...but to answer your question, I only let their influence guide me if it's a VALID reason they don't like each other. Obviously “valid” is my opinion, but if a friend has a beef with another and I think it’s valid I will pull away from the person they’re saying “I wish you weren’t friends with so-and-so”.

Sometimes the internet friend is ALSO the photography friend. I met this awesomely talented photography chick a couple of weeks ago. And now I have a photography/internet friend. A phinternet.

I really don't have a lot of friends, so it's hard to answer
I had this one friend who none of my other friends liked. She turned out to prove them right and we are no longer friends. So, I guess if I met someone and my friends didn't like that person, I would think twice before getting closer to that new friend.
