Hormonal overreaction, or is this guy a jerk?

So I'm sitting at my desk and a guy that started here about a month ago is standing in my quad talking to a coworker. I'm not very chummy with this guy at all. I wasn't even involved with their conversation and all of a sudden he says very creepily, "Patti, I'll pay to watch you eat that banana." I was shocked. He's made a few other comments about watching me eat a banana - which I do everyday with innuendos but nothing as blatant and wierd as this.

I think this is totally inappropriate in an office and think I should let him know it bothered me and to put a stop to it. I don't feel right involving a manager or HR until this guy knows it's bothering me.

Am I overreacting?

The guy is a jerk and I wouldn't worry about talking to him first . . . go straight to HR or a manager.

I don't think you were having a hormonal reaction at all!!!! If I were you I would report him. How dare him say that ..and he's new???

He's lucky he didn't get punched in the mouth.

nope your not overreacting at all. That guy is more than a jerk!!! If he has said comments to you in the past I may just bring it up to my manager or HR . That should not happen in the workplace let alone be said to a preg woman whose hormones are off anyway.

maybe you should make a list with the dates and times of what he says to you and if it progresses than go to manager

Totally not over-reacting....I'd definitely say something.

Also like the above poster said, start keeping notes/times/dates of his "inappropriate" sayings to you.

The comments have nothing to do with pregnancy and hormones.

This is a totall sexual harrassment comment. Straight out of the book.

I would tell

1/ his comment is totally inappropriate and unprofessional
2/ you will have to report him

Very inappropriate. If he says stuff like that all the time it will eventually catch up with him.

Agree 100%, not right, completely wrong. I would just tell someone and skip right over him all together.
