What do I need to buy for Baby?
We have less than 9 weeks and I am in the hospital. We decided on a welcome baby home party instead of baby shower in the hospital so we have NADA.
What should we buy over the next few weeks for this munchkin to tide us over till the Welcome party?

I would say some one piece carters jumpers with feet...they can sleep in those and wear them during the day. Diapers,wipes, balmex. A bath towel and tub. Johnsons body wash (good for hair too). A few bottles (if you are going to use them), a few burp clothes, 2 pacifiers, a crib sheet....
How soon after you are home is the party? If you registered, can you see what has been purchased so that you don't double buy? This must be exciting for you!!!

My mom is throwing it and the time is the hardest. I dont want a little newborn having alot of people touch her I dont know how many weeks is ideal.
I am excited. 9 weeks seems long still but everyone is assuring me it will go faster than I think lol
Thanks for the suggestions-we did this almost 7 years ago with our first but had a baby shower so we didnt need much.

I would buy:
Diaper ointment (vaseline, Balmex)
Diapers
Formula
Bottles (bottle brush also)
pacifiers, just in case baby likes them
onesies/t-shirts
one piece outfits or nightgowns
washcloths/towel
First Aid/grooming kit (aspirator, etc.)
receiving blankets
wipes (warmer?)
I know there's more but that's all I can think of!

Are people going to be buying your larger items for this party? You are going to need an infant seat to leave the hospital.
So, let's see:
-Infant seat
-Pack and Play/Bassinett/Co-Sleeper/Crib. Something for the baby to sleep in
-Onesies and some pj's.
-Bottles if you are formula feeding.
The hospital will send you home with formula (if you are using it) and a bunch of diapers, at least a week's worth, so you can deal with that after you get home. The will also give you A&D, a pacifer.
And you may want a bouncer or something so that you can put the baby down
ETA: You don't need a ton at the beginning, just stuff to feed her and diaper/clothe her. You will be amazing how little you need RIGHT at first, especially since you are going to have a party later on.
