Favorites Spinoff
Do you feel the your SO's parents have a favorite? And is your SO the favorite or not?
I feel that my MIL treats DH's youngest sister with alot more sympathy and favoritism and it bugs me!

This is a funny story.
My DHs mother told him not too long ago that he was her favorite...so my DH thought she was full of it...eventually, DH and his brother were talking about their mother, and DH says, "isn't it funny how mom tells each of us that we are her favorite".
DH's brother, "she never said that to me".

hmmmmmmm.....yes i think her youngest son is her favorite..her baby.
But i think my DH is looked at as the responsible one

Leo is not the favorite. He is the oldest of 3. His dad's favorite is his brother, his mom's is his sister. It is the way it has always been, and they make no attempt at changing it.
I think it stems off of his parents being so young when they had them. Leo was the oldest and always bothered by their irresponsiblity. Where his brother and sister jsut went with the flow. I know it is going to trickle down to our kids too. My MIL talks badly about how my BIL's kids are fresh. My FIL talks badly about my SIL's kid. They are also divorced. So it was like the family seperated into teams, and left Leo solo.

FH is the "family" favorite and the reliable, responsible one. It comes with a lot of expecations in the way of favors.
FH's mom doesn't seem to have a favorite. But FH is the oldest, so she depends on him rather than his younger brothers.

Rich is DEFINITELY the favorite!
He's the youngest of 2, and his older sister (4 yrs older) was hellllllllll as a child/teen- sheer drinking/smoking terror. Barely graduated high school. She destroyed the house w/ her parties on several occaisions. She even married the wrong guy, and now struggles to get by from paycheck to paycheck. When it comes to her, all his parents do is:

Hmm I think DH's younger brother is least favorite because he is very messy and irresponsible...Has a habit of borrowing money from family and not repaying...I think DH is the responsible one, in part because he is the oldest. But he's still irresponsible compared to me.

Ken is the definatly the family favorite....I dont think his mother has a favorite...but the aunts and uncles seem to.
It seems that some of his aunts and uncles don't agree that his sister divorced her 1st husband because he wan't a nice man...and they seem to hold that against her. Both Ken and I think that it is truely unfair the way that she is treated.

MY BIL , Dh's older brother is EVERYONE in the familys favorite...THEN he goes and wins the lottery and now they treat him like hes GOD...Drives me insane!!
