The lawyer I am using to sell my co-op was the lawyer that has done all my prior co-op sales. She is based in Queens and knows the people in the co-op management office... and has worked with my realtor on many closings in the past. I wanted to use a lawyer that knew what MY co-op wanted.
But I also wanted to use a different lawyer for the house... someone preferably in Long Island that was more familiar with house closings and closings in the area I am buying. Kinda the same idea as the co-op... i wanted someone that specialized in the area I am dealing with.
If I had to do it again... I am not sure if I would do this because it may get tricky if would have had to schedule both closings on the same day. But thank god I don't have to do that so all will go as planned.

See thats the other thing that would make it more complicated. My co-op closing MUST happen in the co-op's office. Its in their by-laws.

$750 but that's only cuz we were recommended to him by someone who had used him previously. Normally, he charges $950.
