Tax Bill question*****fuming
WE bought our house in January. We never recieved a second half tax bill from teh Town of North Hempstead. Teh people who previously owned our house sent us teh bill saying taht it was sent to them twice. they even called teh town to change the name and teh paperwork wasn't processed, so since they had a mail forward on, teh bill kept being sent to them. Now the Treasurer is charging us a $90 penalty fee + 7% interest!!!!!
Is there anything I can do?? I called themand they were so mean saying I should have known.
thoughts??? I am fuming.

Did you escrow your taxes? If so, they should've paid them automatically. Otherwise, I'm sorry I have no advice but that really stinks.
