Our Backyard Wildlife (pic blitz)
A juvenille starling has taken to the orange halves we put out for orioles...notice the house finches on the sack
It really grew attatched to that orange
A red or tri winged blackbird
Fred, our portly pidgeon
Harry, our cardinal (the female is Sally)
Our chipmunk Luke (the female is Kate)
Fred, and Howard the blue jay
And, last but not least, Myrtle the Turtle (who laid eggs on our lawn that we are hoping hatch)

Wow, that's so cool! Did you always have a lot of birds so you started to put food out, or did you put the food out and then they came?
And how did you attract a turtle? I love them, I had a snapper as a pet when I was a kid.

We have a resavoir behind our house, so we knew there was lots of stuff in there...
we put out the feeders and food, and VOILA!!

Oh, and please excuse the mess...we dug everything up and are replanting next week after our tree and bush delivery

Wow! Love it all but the Starling! We have them in our yard and they eat my kitty cat's food and dive bomb her hiney!!! They are very aggressive birds!
But everything else you've got is sooooo cool!

I had NO idea what it was...I had to go to a bird board to get an ID on it...my birding book didn't have a pic of a young starling, and it doesn't really look like the older ones!
I thought it was something cool and was sorely diappointed

Well, your pic looks like the biotch birds we get, that we've been calling starlings. I guess I have a strong dislike for them after seeing them attack my cat and spending hours and hundreds of $$ at the emergency vet. 
I much prefer our robins, cardinals, finches and we get some of those red and yellow wing tipped black birds too! Plus we get herons, terns, geese, swans, and ducks! 
I love nature!

COOL!!!
I love all the birds & Myrtle.
Since I put out my new hummingbird feeder I've seen the hummingbird 3 more times, can't get any pics though, it moves too fast!
Our main Oriole is a riot, it chases every bird & even squirrels out of its tree! It cracks me up!
one of my patients gave me a bird ID book, but I haven't had a chance to sit outside with it yet to ID the little wrens & finches.
Keep the pics coming Lisa, they are awesome!

Love it. Never knew about the oranges. Going to try that! I have one of those bird feeders you do (the block of food in it) and not ONE bird goes to it
