Moth ball odor removal?
We just closed on our new home (yay!) and the lady who lived there before us had a thing for moth balls. There are two closets in particular that are very heavy with moth ball odor. We haven't moved our stuff in yet, and I'd love to eliminate or at least greatly reduce the smell before we move in. Any advice? TIA!

Can you try one of those "odor-absorbing" gel pots that they sell in Bed Bath and Beyond?
We had (as a result of a wild party ) a NASTY AZZ smell in our guest room and we put a few of these around, left the windows open and the smell was gone in a day or two.

i actually like the smell it reminds me of my grandma.
everything she has smells like it, i don't think there is any easy way to get rid of it. maybe try those cedar blocks in the closets.

I agree with Kelly, I think the cedar blocks would be your best bet. Is there carpeting in the closets? Maybe you could put down some carpet deoderizer, leave it for a while, and vaccuum it up?
I know BB&B sells those cedar things. Also, what about some baking soda to "soak up" the odor/dampness?
Good luck!

Re: Moth ball odor removal?
Thanks for the suggestions! I went to the house today, and miraculously the smell has GREATLY diminished on its own! We removed all carpeting and aired out the areas, so I guess that helped some. I think I will try some cedar chips for any lingering odor.
