Where the best place to buy a toolbox?
Ok, so you all know my DH is a union carpenter. Well he has a regular toolbox that he brings to work occassionally. But he has so many larger tools that just don't fit in it. All his other crap, I mean tools, are sitting in brown boxes in our bedroom. It drives me nuts plus I can never find anything when I need it. He is graduating his apprenticeship 6/6/07 and I wanted to get him like a craftsman red toolbox (stand up/upright) on wheels. We obviously don't have a garage and DH doesn't want to keep his tools in our outside storage unit (because of the $$$ value of them) so I'd want to find one that could fit in one of our hall closets.
Where is the best place to buy one? I assume home depot/lowes? It wouldn't have to be ordered? Is Sears cheaper? Thanks in advance.
Also, how much do they run? I'm assuming over $200. Am I in the ballpark?

well it doesn't have to be craftsmen, its the only brand I know. I kinda want to surprise him with it.
How much do they run in price?

Craftsmen is a great brand since they guarantee there tools. DH has returned some of his dads tools that were 10yrs old and received replacements.
They also make great tool boxes.
Prices vary depending on the size.
Something like this is $90
And this one $225.00

yea, I was looking on their website. As I stated, I would want one that is on wheels and quite a lot larger than that one. I actually checked out husky from home depot, and they are priced a good $50-$100 cheaper than craftsman. I want to get a good one, but don't forget, its going to be in a closet, so I don't need a crazy kind of one. I saw some on Sears website for almost 4K, love my DH, not that much though. I really want to keep it around $200-$300. I'm going to go cheap out Sears, Home Depot and Lowes this weekend. Thanks all

My dad and DH are both in construction (dad - truck driver, DH - Iron Worker), they both shop online for tools, etc at these two sites
Sportsmans Guide
Northern Tool
I know this, because something from one of these places is always on their Christmas lists

It's about the size of a Elian Gonzales when he was first in the news.
I will have to ask DH how much- it doesn't have wheels, but it fits all of his chainsaw blades and lumberjack spikes.

My husband has one like the 2nd on the misssy posted. He bought it at Sears Hardware and if I remember correctly, it was around $250

Yeah - don't even go THERE!
I bought Ray a nice one (or I thought it was nice) from Sears. Make sure it has roller balls on the drawers...anyway....
Now we are the proud owners of a $5,000 toolbox that sits at the shop.
If I hear one more time "it's a write-off" I will scream! 
But anyway, try Sears they have nice ones. Or try Matco or Snap-On. Ray can get you a catalog or something if you want!

thanks, I think I'm going to check out some this weekend. I can't spend serious money, but I pretty sure I can find something nice in Sears/Lowes/Home Depot for under $300K on wheels. I just can't stand the tools in brown boxes on the floor. Its quite a site in our master bedroom.
