Why not
Stick with me - I'm so frazzled right now!
DH had to have some work done on his Mini Cooper yesterday, so he brought it to the dealer and they gave him a loaner.
He took off work to day to get some things done - pack for our move, call places for homeowners insurance, etc...
We switched cars this morning and he put his loaner Mini on the street in front of our house. Some lady came barreling around the corner and plowed right into the loaner car, pushing it onto the neighbors lawn and totaling it.
I am at work and DH said the cops were there. I'm leaving here in a while to go home and check on things.
Is this going to affect our insurance even though it was absolutely 100% not our fault????
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Re: Why not
As far as I know it will not affect your insurance. It is 100% her fault.
What is with all the car accidents lately??
We all need to pay better attention when driving!

Re: Why not
It should not affect your insurance. You were not moving, nor even in the car. It should be 100% her fault. Sorry you are dealing with this.

Re: Why not
It most certainly will NOT affect your insurance. I just had my car fixed due to a non-fault accident. Sounds silly to say.... but glad it wasn't YOUR car.

Re: Why not
LOL - this feels like it happened forever ago!
The people at Hassell Mini (where the loaner was from) were super fantastic and they didn't even have to call our insurance company!
The lady admitted 100% responsibility (duh - she hit and totaled a PARKED CAR!!!) and because of that, she will bear the entire brunt of the responsibility.
She was driving a leased Infinity, which she had to return to the dealership because her lease is up next week!
It was quite an adventurous start to the holiday weekend.
It made for some good BBQ conversations, though!

Re: Why not
This is one of the ONLY times that your ins will not be affected because 1. the car wasn't occupied and 2. because your car was not moving.
You should definitely be in the clear!
Sorry that had to happen, V!
