massage therapist?

I know this is wierd, but i have always loved giving massages and i am sort of considering doing the program and becoming one professionally. I am in school right now for elementary education but since I know finding a job on LI as a teacher is tough, I was thinking of taking a year off and doing this program.

Does anyon do this for a living or know anyone who does? I looked up average salary and it is awesome, are the facts right, do you make good money? Any info would be appreciated, thanks!!
