How much does it cost to join www.mac.com? Dh's cousin set up a "group" for the family to all keep in touch, and now it is telling me that I can't login until I become a "full member".
I am sorry, I love my iPod, but after owning a MAC in college, this is just part of the reason I will never buy another Mac computer.

I think it's about $30 or $40 a year.
They'll tell you on the site.
I LOVE my Mac.
I guess it isn't true..some people DO go back. LOL

I think its 30-40 or so....I've had nothing but Macs since the Commodore64, but I've never set up Mac.com. There's really no need - you can set up a free group through yahoo!

Thank you! I have used yahoo groups before for school - and it was great!
But DH's entire family has MACs and I am the only PC hold-out.
I only use PCs for work, and I refuse to get a Mac just for "home" (even though my MIL offered to buy us one .  )

Hey Mac people...DH is thinking of changing our home computer to a MAC.
We know NOTHING about them...will the router we have work? will the airport we have work? Can we have one PC on the router and one Mac?
Anyone know if VPN is compatable so that he can "dial in" to work?

Your router is most likely compatible. If you're using Ariport that is a mac product, so it's defintiely compatible. I have 3 PC's and one mac on my router and it's fine, I network them and send files between them with no problem.
Macs are completely intuitive to use (think of how intuitive the iPod is an dexpand that to a computer) and now with the dual processor macs you can use it to run windows and windowns programs, so you shouldn't have any problems with VPN.
I am 100% a mac lover. I resisted it. I was a hater for a long time, but after I got my iPod I was hooked, now I'm a mac person forever.
ETA: The only thing that hs ever been a problem was that my pritner was broken and I tried to use my brother in law's lexmark on the network and wired, and both ways it did not work because it doens't support mac. MOST peripherals do support mac, but make sure you check everything. I really have not had a problem, and the dual processor means there's nothing you can't do on a Mac that you can do on a PC
