advertising on EGGS?

I made my daughter eggs this morning - when I took them out of the container I realized they were each stamped with an ad for the movie Eragon (apparently the DVD is coming out soon).

I mean - ad's on EGGS - any thoughts on this??

Chat Icon How is that safe? Doesn't the dye from the advertisement get into the yolk, etc?

Re: advertising on EGGS?

Now that so many people TIVO and skip commercials, advertisers need to come up with new and creative ideas. I think it's a cute idea.

Re: advertising on EGGS?

Weird.... the FDA wouldn't allow any non-safe ink to be used, so I wouldn't worry about the health aspects. They'd better stay away from sliced bread, though!

Eggland's Best have an "EB" stamped on them, so I'm sure it's the same thing. There are many FDA approved dyes used in all sorts of foods.

That is strange though.

Re: advertising on EGGS?

I think all this advertising is a bit ridiculous. Next thing you know, it will be on toilet paper!

I was just commenting to DH the other day about how it used to be nice to go to the movie theater and NOT have to see commercials. I think our theater used to entertain us before the movie with trivia.

Re: advertising on EGGS?

I was told that the dye they used to stamp the USDA on meat comes from vegetables. I would imagine it is somethng similar.

All the eggs here are stamped with dates on them and the Lion Egg seal..like this, but movie advertising! Thats a fantastic idea! That ones going into the head of my agency tomorrow...mind you, I work in a Recruitment Advertising Agency...but still, someone might want a job that is advertised on an egg!

My son and husband were eating Pringles yesterday with pictures of Spiderman and Spiderman Q's & A's on them. So bizarre.

Re: advertising on EGGS?

we're already bombarded with just about EVERYTHING having an advertisement on it so why not eggs, right?!Chat Icon

whats funny to me is that one has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Chat Icon
