Did you check the connection to your tower? This happens to me all the time and it's just a loose wire.

Check the volume on your computer itself.
Down at the bottom by the time there is an icon for volume.

My keyboard has a mute button right next to the volume button... maybe you accidentally hit that?
Sometimes also I have restarted the computer and it worked.
Also check the volume level. If you double click the little speaker in the tray (bottom right of the screen next to the clock) you can check the volume.
